I have studied near death experiences for over 20 years and this book is very credible and refreshing. There are a lot of people accusing him of lying, but in my opinion, that is bearing false witness and slandering someone without empirical proof. How can they possibly know what he experienced when he cracked his head on the pavement? Have they actually debunked his time in the hospital? He was known and seen by many witnesses. He has the medical records to prove he was in a coma. No other person knows besides him and GOD what he experienced when he flat-lined. God alone is the judge of a Christian’s actions, heart & motives. Our job is to check the fruit, not pass judgement, especially “before the time.” If Gabe is lying, God will see to it. But those who slander and falsely accuse him will surely give an account to the Lord. God is not mocked. I will say that maybe, we should give him some grace, as a young 20-something writer, that perhaps he doesn’t always choose the most precise and accurate ways to express what he saw and felt. But if we saw the glories of heaven, would we be able to effortlessly convey what we saw with perfect vocabulary or grammar? God gave this young man an amazing miracle and commissioned him to come back and share what he experienced. He is not changing the Bible or preaching a new gospel! On page 139 he is inviting people to repent of their sins and receive Christ as their Savior. That sounds Biblical to me. Yet people here are accusing him of promoting a New Age Jesus. lol… since when has the new age called us to turn from all sins? When have they invited people to test them against the Bible and to hold up the Bible as the standard of truth? For people who don’t believe that Christians can receive divine revelation from God TODAY, Acts 2 says clearly that in the “last days”, God would pour out of his spirit and give prophetic revelation to his sons and daughters. Revelation, signs & wonders didn’t stop with the death of the apostles. That’s nonsense. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. He did miracles in the past and He still does them today. but many “so-called believers” actually quench the power of the spirit, and ignore or twist important passages of Scripture. The Bible tells us not to quench the spirit or despise prophecies - but to test all things and hold fast to that which is good. I don’t use this book as a replacement for scripture. I fear God and would NEVER do that; however, this amazing testimony is encouraging and reaffirms the power of God to miraculously heal and raise from the dead! Countless believers, including myself, have had supernatural encounters with the Living God. We are SUPPOSED to witness and share our testimonies in order to encourage and bring others to God. That doesn’t mean we are adding to the canon of scripture. Gabe also sheds more light on that beautiful city we will call home when we step into eternity. For those who poo-poo God’s divine revelations and messengers, be careful, lest you fall into the same type of sins committed by the “religious leaders” who rejected Jesus, blasphemed the Spirit, and stoned the prophets. It is more prudent to examine ourselves before casting stones at others. Many people will arrive to judgment day and sadly realize that they didn’t really even know the Lord, or rather that He didn’t know them… God bless Gabe and the Lord’s true saints; all glory and honor to the Lord Jesus Christ forever.
